About J Combs and Co

I started making leather goods because I wanted something slower than my day job—something tactile, deliberate, and built to last.

What I make isn’t about trends, flashy branding, or seasonal releases. It’s about usefulness and longevity. Pieces that feel better after years of wear than they did on day one.

Leather should show its life. Scratches, patina, and wear aren’t flaws—they’re the point.

What I Make

At J Combs & Co., I design and handcraft bags, wallets, and small leather goods one at a time using premium leathers and traditional construction methods.

My style is durable but refined—pieces that feel at home in the office and out in the field. Each piece carries my mark as a maker’s signature, not a statement. Made to be carried daily, not babied or replaced.

My Approach

I believe in fewer, better things.

I don’t chase volume, fast turnaround, or mass production. Most of what I make is small-batch or made-to-order, with an emphasis on materials, function, and restraint.

If you’re looking for something disposable or trend-driven, this probably isn’t for you.

If you value craftsmanship, longevity, and quiet design, you’re in the right place.

About the Maker

I’m Josh. I live in the Pacific Northwest, work a full-time job during the day, and build leather goods in the margins—early mornings, late nights, and weekends.

This isn’t a factory. It’s a small shop, and I’m the one making your piece from start to finish.

And after all, no one ever handed down anything made from plastic.
